Chief Financial Officer
In leading a team dedicated to professional excellence in all financial operations that support the clients and stakeholders of J. Knipper and Company, Jim directs the Company’s finance functions, including reporting, budgeting and planning, treasury, tax, capital management as well as day-to-day accounting operations.
Jim’s 30 year career encompasses the areas of accounting, financial management and information technology with proficiency in M&A transactions and enterprise software implementations. Included were two previous private equity-backed CFO roles, one in manufacturing and, most recently, in home health care.
Earlier experience includes both audit and consulting positions at two Big Four accounting firms. Additionally, Jim led a transaction advisory practice and a finance and accounting outsourcing operation as a partner in a regional accounting firm that was acquired by a national firm.
Jim also served as an adjunct professor of financial and managerial accounting in the Strategic Design Executive MBA program at Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University) from 2014 to 2017.
He currently serves on the Pennsylvania CPA Journal Editorial Board, has authored and co-authored numerous articles and blog posts for the Journal, and has been interviewed for video and podcast content. Jim also serves on the steering committee for the Association for Corporate Growth’s Private Equity Executives Roundtable (ACG PEER). He is a past board member of two other professional associations in the Greater Philadelphia business community and has delivered numerous presentations and panel discussions throughout his career. Jim lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he serves as an officer with a local Knights of Columbus council.
Jim was awarded his accounting degree at Queens College of the City University of New York, is a CPA in Pennsylvania, and a member of the AICPA and PICPA.
