J. Knipper and Co. partners with AmeriCares to provide positive alternative to pharmaceutical premium item destruction
December 09, 2008 — LAKEWOOD, NJ – J. Knipper and Company, Inc., known throughout the healthcare industry for developing and delivering smart, effective, and efficient commercial solutions is pleased to announce a new partnership with AmeriCares to facilitate the donation of pharmaceutical premium items which fall outside of the new PhRMA guidelines as of January 1, 2009.

Knipper and Company. “Our current pharmaceutical relationships, interest in humanitarian causes, combined with our capability to house and deliver these premiums made this alliance a natural fit.”
As part of the partnership, Knipper will work within its current and prospective client base to find pharmaceutical manufacturers with premium items who have an interest in donating them, and work with AmeriCares to define which items have humanitarian use. Knipper will house these items during the transition to AmeriCares in a portion of its 270,000 square feet of warehouse space, and arrange for transportation to AmeriCares. As part of the new PhRMA guidelines going into effect January 1, 2009, most premium items are no longer deemed appropriate for dissemination to healthcare providers. Those companies adopting the new guidelines will retain a small portion for consumer health activities and may either destroy or donate the remaining items.
